Insurance
Vital, you
must have it. And even if you don't go with us you should get
it.
Let's
face it, it's a stag do. All boys together means that a stag weekend
is often wilder than the usual weekend spent treading the social
boards with the bird and her annoying friends. As a consequence
you might feel the urge to push the limits a little more than
usual, and you want to be safe in the knowledge that should you
come unstuck you're well covered.
And
while our partners are responsible organisations carrying insurance
and employing professional codes of practice, neither we nor they
can legislate for the unforeseen. That is why we insist on you
covering yourselves with adequate insurance.
The
benefits of the policies we can coordinate for you are that they:
(1) are great value - we don't look to these as a money spinner
but a necessity; (2) they cover you for personal injury - heaven
forbid you should suffer an unfortunate accident but if you do
it's there; (3) they cover you for cancellation - so if you do
have to cancel for some reason you can get any monies back and
finally (4) if you're going abroad they constitute necessary travel
insurance.
You'll
find a cover description and details below, but be sure to read
through your policy when you get it and contact ourselves or our
insurers with any queries.
If you decide
to get your own insurance that's fine - but be sure your own policies
are adequate and relevant. Check the terms and conditions (ours
and the insurers) to make sure you're happy.

TRAVEL
& HOLIDAY INSURANCE - NEVER
TRAVEL WITHOUT IT
We appreciate
that many holiday makers are unsure what travel insurance is suitable
for their needs. We have therefore arranged a comprehensive travel
package which is underwritten on behalf of a consortium of insurers
by Travel & Personal Underwriters Ltd, providing first class
security. This insurance is subject to English Law.
The full terms, conditions and exclusion clauses are incorporated
within the certificate which alone constitutes the contract between
you, the Insured Person and Travel & Personal Underwriters
Ltd. In the event of a dispute as to the interpretation of the
terms and conditions of this insurance, the terms and conditions
of the certificate alone will prevail. Shown here are brief
details only . The certificate of insurance will be sent to
you with your confirmation of booking. Of course, prior to effecting
coverage you may inspect the certificate at our offices or a copy
will be sent to you on request.
The insurance
does not generally exclude coverage in respect of pre-existing
medical conditions and is not subject to age limits. However,
claims are excluded where at the time of taking out this insurance:-
(a) the Insured Person is aware of any medical condition or set
of circumstances which could reasonably be expected to give rise
to a claim.
(b) any person whose condition gives rise to a claim:
(I) has during the 12 months prior to the date of issue of this
insurance suffered from any chronic and/or recurring illness of
a serious nature which has necessitated consultation or treatment
unless declared to and accepted by Underwriting Agents; or (ii)
is suffering from any previously diagnosed psychiatric disorder;
or (iii) is receiving or on a waiting list for in patient treatment
in a hospital or nursing home; or (iv) is expected to give birth
before, or within eight weeks following the date of arriving home;
or (v) is travelling against the advice of a medical practitioner
or for the purpose of obtaining medical treatment
abroad; or (vi) has been given a terminal prognosis.
All material
facts must be disclosed to the Underwriting Agents. Failure to
do so may affect your rights under the Insurance. A material fact
is a fact likely to influence the Underwriting Agents in the acceptance
or assessment of the Insurance (for example, your
own state of health or that of a close relative). If you are in
any doubt as to whether a fact is 'material' then for your own
protection it should be disclosed.

Important
Notice
Your travel
insurers have to bring to your attention some of the important
features of your travel insurance certificate:
Insurance
Certificate : this contains full details of the cover provided
plus the conditions and exclusions which apply to it. You must
read the insurance certificate carefully.
Conditions,
Exclusions and Warranties : there are conditions and exclusions
which apply to individual sections and general conditions exclusions
and warranties which apply to the whole certificate.
Date
Change Exclusion : Changes in dates could see widespread
failure of computer and other systems containing computer chips,
which depend on date-related information in order to work properly.
Other than in respect of Section 3 Medical and other Expenses
your certificate excludes anything directly or indirectly caused
by failure of any computer hardware or software or other electrical
equipment to recognise or process any date as the true calendar
date.
Fraudulent
Claims : the making of a fraudulent claim is a criminal offence.
Medical
Expenses : the certificate does not provide private health
treatment unless specifically approved by the emergency service .
Health :
the certificate contains conditions relating to the health of
the people travelling and others upon whose well being the trip
may depend. It may be that you are required to disclose known
medical conditions of such people prior to cover being issued
and you must be aware that failure to disclose such information
will prejudice your position.
Property
Claims : these are settled on an indemnity basis - not on
a "new for old" or replacement cost basis, unless
otherwise stated in the certificate.
Certificate
Limits : most sections of the certificate have limits on
the amount the insurer will pay under that section. Some sections
also have inner limits e.g.: for one item, or for valuables
in total.
Excesses :
claims under most sections of the certificate will be subject
to an excess. Where there is an excess, you will be responsible
for paying the first part of a claim. See Aggregate Excess note.
Reasonable
Care : you are required to take all reasonable care to protect
yourself and your property and to act as though you are not
insured.
Complaints :
the insurance certificate includes a Complaints Procedure which
tells you what steps you can take if you wish to make a complaint.
" Cooling
Off Period ": the certificate contains a "cooling
off" period which allows you to return the certificate
and obtain a full refund if you have justifiable reason to be
dissatisfied with the cover provided.
PLEASE
ENSURE YOU READ YOUR INSURANCE CERTIFICATE CAREFULLY

International
Insurance
If you are
travelling abroad - you must get this, and as above you
must make sure that it adequately covers you for all the activities
you are undertaking.
E111s
If you are
travelling or staying temporarily in another state belonging to
the European Economic Area (EEA), with the necessary E111 documentation
you are entitled to receive immediate, urgent medical care should
you become ill or have an accident. If you are a student, a seconded
worker or if you are entitled to a social security pension in
that state, you will be then be entitled to health care beyond
the immediate treatment.
Important
Note: It is important to clarify that having an E111 no way negates
the necessity to be covered by insurance, it is an extra NOT an
alternative.
The E111 form
will make it easier for you to get medical care quickly and easily.
It is evidence that you are part of a health insurance scheme
administered by another state in the EEA. With the form, you can
receive medical treatment without being charged. If you don't
have the form, you are still entitled to medical care, but you
may have to pay for it on the spot and then claim for reimbursement
at a later stage.
Currently,
the EEA comprises the 12 Member States of the European Union together
with Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein (see below). The EEA plans
to expand considerably in the next 5 years with 12 additional
countries already approved for future membership.
Rules
The E111 only
entitles you to the state-funded health care scheme in the country
in which you are staying. It will not cover any of the costs involved
in transporting you back to your place of origin. The
E111 will not cover you for health care in any country outside
the EEA, with the exception of the Caribbean islands of Guadeloupe,
which will also accept the E111 form, as they are a French dependency.
Rates
The E111 is
free; you will not have to pay for its issue. Keep it safe, preferably
with your passport, and carry it with you when travelling within
the EEA.
How to
apply - obtaining form E111
Go to any
main post office or travel agent and ask for the E111, it is often
within a leaflet " Health Advice for Travellers ". Fill in
the application form at the back of the booklet as well as form
E111 itself, in accordance with the instructions in the booklet.
Hand over the completed forms at the post office where the form
E111 will be stamped and signed and returned to you.
Validity
There is no
time limit on the E111. It remains valid indefinitely so long
as you remain ordinarily resident in the UK. You will only need
to apply for another E111 if you use it to claim for treatment
and it is not given back to you, or if you mislay it. However,
please note that your E111 will cease to be valid if you go to
live outside the UK.

Union (EU) Countries
